About Me

Hi, I’m Delaney! I have loved storytelling and spellchecking since day one. Now, I work with fiction authors to bring out the magic in their books. I’m a freelance editor and writer in Ottawa, ON, who specializes in fantasy, horror, and other genres of speculative fiction. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (Carleton University) and a Certificate in Editing (Simon Fraser University), and several years’ experience as a business writer.

I’m particularly fond of books that are weird and whimsical. Some of my recent favourites are: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, When Among Crows by Veronica Roth, The Dead Take the A Train by Cassandra Khaw and Richard Kadrey, Summer Sons by Lee Mandelo, and The Eyes Are the Best Part by Monika Kim.

When I’m not partaking in a book-related activity, I like playing video games and watching scary movies. I’m also an animal lover, and I’ve spent over a decade working in pet care.
